FABIO ANGELO COLAJANNI

Italian flautist and piccolo player Fabio Angelo Colajanni has completed his studies at the “L. Refice” Conservatory in Frosinone with Paolo Zampini. Afterwards, he studied flute with M. Marasco and A. Oliva, and piccolo with B. P. Lombardi, N. Mazzanti and M. Simeoli. He also attended several specialization courses in very important Academies, such as “International Sommerakademie Mozarteum” in Salzburg, Academy of Music in Florence, and Italian Academy of Music in Rome. In 2000 he won the competition in the Italian Military Band, which he still works both in Italy and abroad, as well as soloist.

Fabio is the winner of several national and international competitions, including: E. Krakamp, City of Ovada, and V. Bucchi (including best performance of Valentino Bucchi’s piccolo Concert). He has recorded concerts for Naxos, Scomegna, Sony, Stradivarius, and Warner Classic. He also has recorded for Mediaset and RAI. Mr. Colajanni has toured around Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America.

Besides an intense concert activity, Fabio also collaborates with Orchestra Regionale di Roma e del Lazio, International Orchestra of Italy, Orchestra Italiana del Cinema, Symphonic Orchestra of Rome, Teatro S. Carlo of Naples. Teatro dell’opera di Roma, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, and Teatro alla Scala di Milano. He has played with many conductors, such as D. Barenboim, R. F. de Burgos, D. Harding, A. Pappano, D. Rustioni and N. Santi, performing in the most important theatres, from Auditorium Park of Music in Rome, La Scala in Milan, to the “Carnegie Hall” in New York, and “Grand Theater” in Shanghai.

Mr. Colajanni is currently Professor of flute and piccolo at the course of high improvement in Rome, at the Anton Rubinstein school, and at Conservatory of Latina in Gaeta. He has been teaching many master classes, courses and playing recitals around Europe and the North America. A versatile flautist, Fabio is continuously requested for important collaborations, even in the field of pop, radio television and cinema.

Fabio has occupied the position of artistic director of “S. Gazzelloni” International Festival in Roccasecca (FR) for 10 years. In October 2004 he graduated in Law at Cassino University, while in 2007 in “Academic Diploma”, II level in flute at “L. Refice” Conservatory in Frosinone with honors.
