
Italian flutist Claudio Palazzi was born in Alatri (FR,Italy). He began studying the flute in middle school and later continued his musical education at the Conservatory of Frosinone “Licinio Refice” until 2007. While at the Conservatory, Palazzi participated in the “G.Visconti” competition twice, winning first plae in 2007 and third place in 2009. After graduation from the Conservatory of Frosinone, he earned a master’s degree from the Conservatory of Rome “Santa Cecilia” in 2017.
Palazzi began his career as principal flute and piccolo with the Orchestra Internazionale di Roma and as a principal flute with the Orchestra Giovanile di Roma, performing in prestigious concert halls and theaters across Italy, including Auditorium Santa Cecilia, Teatro Argentina, and Teatro Italia.
In 2016, Palazzi began studying flute and piccolo with his mentor Maestro Fabio A. Colajanni, in Ferentino, Italy, and joined the Orchestra di fiati Città di Ferentino, a large wind orchestra directed by Maestro Alessandro Celardi. In 2017 and 2022, the orchestra won a gold medal and a special mention award at the World Music Contest in Kerkrade, Netherlands. Through the International Flute Workshop held in Italy in 2019, Palazzi met Dr. Danilo Mezzadri, whom he later followed to the University of Southern Mississippi in 2023, earning a master’s degree in music performance in May 2025.
Over the years, Palazzi has attended numerous courses and masterclasses led by world-renowned flute artists, including A. Oliva, P.Taballione , and M. Evangelisti. He has performed regularly with various Italian Orchestras, flute choirs, and flute ensembles. In 2019, he won a position as first flute with the Vratsa Symphony Orchestra (Vratsa, Bulgaria), performing in concert halls and theaters across Bulgaria, including Sofia, Kurdzhali, and Vratsa.
In addition to his musical achievements, Palazzi earned a bachelor’s degree in medical engineering from the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” in 2022 and a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, where he wrote a thesis on hydrogel drug delivery systems. In the free time, Palazzi enjoy long walks in his hometown, Rome, Italy.
